The way the stock is stained, the lighter finish on the metal and the venting on the upper hand guard makes it have a nice, oldschool look. It looks like it's from the 60's and went through 'nam. It's sexy.
The Magpul and EO-Nazism looks out of place. It isn't a mix of tacticool and wood, it's a nice gun with overly modern bits slapped onto it with no regard for its style.
Granted, some folks like EOtech sight pictures and all that, but it's the "ketchup" of optics, you slather it on things to make them taste like it, not compliment them. It takes the uniqueness of the weapon and drowns it in tacticool conformity.
It's the optic for those who wish to stand out, but are really just joining the crowd by doing so.
