I think the reasoning here is more simple than people make it out to be. Male units are simply more ideal for combat. They have a lot of advantages over mixed or all female units. See the following article:

Am I saying that mixed or all female units cannot perform however, as the previous article demonstrates women often form social dynamics unfit for productivity. This however, isn't an issue limited to women as mixed environments also prove problematic. This is due to the often complicated and sexually charged nature of make and female relationships. While these relationships are wonderful and important in their own respective ways one must simply acknowledge that fact that they are unsuitable for combat and require additional resources to manage, this is obviously not ideal for a military. So in my opinion while women can fight and serve, all male units are always the ideal; they are more predictable, less demanding, and possibly easier to condition.

i was never against it. women should be in the military as pogs. The only women who should be able to fight are the ones who meet the standards of the men. And i think that all commanders should have at least one combat deployment as an o-1 or lower and graduate ranger school.

Yes, except for positions where physical strength and endurance aren't a factor, such as drone operators and the like. The cost of training 99 women who will either flake out or reduce the effectiveness of a platoon because they do the job worse than a man could is not worth finding the one woman that won't. The military doesn't exist to cater to the feelings of those it protects, it exists to get shit done as efficiently as it can. Women and military efficiency don't mix.

I don't believe there is any amount of mental an emotional conditioning to men to override the chivalry complex we are brought up with in the west.
Respectively i don't think their is enough physical condition you can give a woman to bring her up to the average mans standards. Not just muscle strength but bone strength. It is well documented that women simply break far more often then men.
There's also the fact that women can just get themselves pregnant to opt out once they are over seas

Tbh I'm kinda glad I had female DIs. They didn't affect me much and one even lost her voice yelling at us.

That being said, there were more than a few girls at the start of basic who could smoke some guys at everything, running, pushups, any kind of pt.

But then by just week 7 every single male had left any female far in the dust; I'm talking Goku landing on Namek here.

I've had plenty of females in command positions in the Navy. Judging directly from my experience deploying with females and doing actually physical operations on board and ashore, the females were not suited for front line operations. Even the strongest female on my team, who could out lift and out PT most of us, still needed guys to do a lot for her.

When I was in the navy I despised women in command. I was usually cool with all of them but fuck I felt bad for people they didn't like.
