I figured out how NATO could have won the Cold War had it gone hot. Send the various spy agencies out into the Warsaw Pact nations. Have them remove all the can openers from the ammo stockpiles. Then Nato invades. They should have tanks in Moscow by the time any commie can get his ammo open and loaded into magazines.
