I got a gun show in the city I live coming up this weekend.

Am hearing rumors that no good deals on guns can be found. Am hearing rumors it's a waste of time.

I really don't need anything new....maybe a sling for my AK or some cheap ammo if I can find some.

Do you guys go to gun shows in your local area? Are they worth it to attend?

Rural gun shows are wonderful.

City gun shows are 1/10th guns and 9/10ths cheap shitty gun accessories and 30-something potbellied unwashed losers lurching around.

There *are* exceptions. I went to the Austin gun show last year -- the one they have to hold just outside the city because the libtards and migrant Califuckstainians banned it within the city -- and it was pretty great. Bought a laser boresight and an 80% lower and a T shirt that says pic related.

That remains the exception to the rule, though.

How rural? We got 500k people in 3 surrounding cities. Then not a single major city for 1,000 miles.

Does that make Idaho rural?

Just wondering if it's going to be a piss of my time and money to go.

I could use some cheap target 9mm ammo. 7.62x39mm deals are always welcome as well.

Not sure what else I will find. Maybe a red dot scope for my AK?

I saw a guy selling boxes of steel core chink x39 for $10 a box and I'm kicking myself for not getting a few
so if you're after collector ammo with nothing specific in mind, they're great
plinking ammo, not so much

you'll see some cool guns and maybe some deals or even an obscure part or two

I think they're fun just to fingerfuck and gawk at guns, even if you don't buy anything

you can find good deals if you look hard. No, you wont get good deals on run of the mill glocks and ar's and ammo will be more expensive then big box stores. But the last one I went too I passed on a 1006 for 750 (still kicking my self, but I had already spent too much) and some old dude was walking around with a Calico for 600 bucks w/ 3 mags.

OP, gunshows are usually $5-$10 to attent and about $3 to park. go for the fun of it, finger fuck a bunch of things you may want or have never seen before but expect to leave with no new items.
deals are hard to come by, but once in awhile you can find a hard to come by item at regular to slightly elevated prices. bring your phone and comparison shop while you are there in case you find something you want.
check out the dealer and milsurp booths, but stay far the fuck away from anyone or anything that even remotely tips off your fudd radar, unless you enjoy seeing $500 tags on mosins and $2000 prices on old trashed 1911's which are not WW2 era and may or may not be engraved.
TLDR; GO FOR THE EXPERIENCE, ITS A CHEAP LITTLE TRIP.

This. I've never been to a gun show here in Houston where I would have bought something except for a Enfield that was in 7.62 with great wood and 300S price range. My friend ended up getting it but other than that I have never seen anything else reasonable or that I would want. Fuck people trying to push shit on you at the shows too, "LET ME TELL YOU WHY YOU NEED 15 ARS". What the fuck man.
