/k/ I need help. I'm in need of a shotgun. I have a JC Higgins model 20, but it's more of an heirloom bird gun. I need something for slugs, and buckshot. I've narrowed it down to 3 guns, all have their pros and cons. I just want a little input from you guys to push me in that right direction. The three guns are
Mossberg 500 series.
Of all the three the ergonomics on this one are the best. Kind of an ugly gun, action is proven. Still in production, no shortage of parts.
Remington 870
Lol Cerberus. Ergonomics are bad, but capable of taking a pistol grip without ruining them like on the Mossberg. Same case as the Mossberg on the production and reliability.
Winchester 1300
No longer in production. Parts may be hard to come by. Probably the cheapest of the three, ergos aren't completely awful. In between the other two. The action is what drove me to this one. The rotating bolt and assisted opening make this gun a breeze to shoot.
I'm also open to other gun suggestions. Things like the Benelli supernova, or the FN police shotgun. Thank you all in advance. Shotgun general also, I guess.
