Amazing aerial achievements -- fighter aces, getting broken/damaged aircraft back home safe, world records broken by military aircraft!

>The C-130 Hercules holds the record for the largest and heaviest aircraft to land on an aircraft carrier. In October and November 1963, a USMC KC-130F (BuNo 149798), bailed to the US Naval Air Test Center, made 21 unarrested landings and take-offs on the USS Forrestal at a number of different weights.

my uncle used to fly B52s and he used to land on aircraft carriers in vietnam to refuel

The Black Buck raids flew almost 7000 miles to strike targets in the middle of the ocean at night with only inertial navigation to get them there.

While missions in the gulf would travel further and last longer - the Black Buck missions were done without GPS and with all tankers and bombers taking off from the same runway in a giant relay.
