>>27747158Considering EO pushed the RUF's shit in back in the Sierra Leone Civil war-- yes.
Can't remeber exact numbers, but it was something like 1XXX EO Employees vs something like 10x their number. EO also had their own air support via Hinds and Hips, also had T72's and BMP's. Also a 727. Contracted out fast mover air support for various Migs too.
EO is/was the closest thing you would ever see to a real private MILITARY company that didn't just do convoy or VIP protection, but was actually an offensive/defensive force.
But you can thank all the little nigger ninny faggots at the UN for why we dont see such a thing today... and also EO themselves lobbied SA government for regulations on PMC's
Its sad that EO is gone, because they were, despite guns for hire, a benevolent force-- or at least were paid by the "good guys(?)"
to their credit, I think they stepped down when they should have. their welcome was not yet worn out, and they hadn't turned sour just like good old General Washington limiting himself to two terms
Interestingly enough, there is a new-ish company out there called Sterling Corporate Services that seems to be a product of some old EO employees. been accused of "assembling a private army"
I dont think the prime of private militaries has passed us by yet... I think in our lifetime you will see the rise of some very powerful non-state actors as governments become increasingly intertwined via globalization but still needing things done with military force... just not their own military, if that makes sense
