However, these things were not given to us freely; rather, they were sought out by men and women in the community and some of them have made the ultimate sacrifice just so we could sit here today and have this extremely pointless exchange.
If we should feel appreciative then we should demonstrate it to each other as a community and not those who merely watched our struggles with glee for the past decades - they have their own reasons for 'tolerating' us through gritting teeth.
Furthermore - although these things you have mentioned can prove very necessary for someone's survival they are not sufficient for happiness nor do they provide a person with the means to pursue a worthwhile life.
Like it or not, all human beings turn to others for validation and affection - in some cases being met with nothing but scorn even if no physically aggressive actions are taken.
Lots of people contend with great emotional dissatisfaction because their sexual orientation is not accepted. How they deal with that dissatisfaction is their business alone.
In all honesty it just sounds like you're trying to find an excuse to despise gay people. I'm guessing something personal is at stake, here. I'm guessing you might be homosexual yourself... Or maybe someone close to you has recently come out of the closet.
In that case, I can see why all of this drama might be justified.
