IMO, this is the stupidest shit ever. This role belongs to a GUY. An over the top guy dressed in high heels and suspenders. Who thought this was a good idea? Also, why is it even being remade in the first place? Ugh ;_;

- And a black Bond could certainly work. It's not like Bond's ever been a consistent character anyway beyond the basics, and so as long as he still does what the various versions of Bond have tended to do (be British, suck at being a spy but suck awesomely at it, kill badguys, blow things up, get the girl, face off with the villain and beat them in a suitably ironic and/or brutal way) then it can work. If this was back in the 70s and 80s, then yeah, a black Bond just wouldn't work that well, but 90s onward works more the further you go from there.

Frank N. Furter is a fucking transvestite and closer to being a drag queen than anything else, not a MTF. Curry was playing an OTT caricature. Not equivalent to the other three.
Cox, IMO, is making a well-intentioned but dumb fucking mistake.

I'm just wondering cause I don't see why it's a big deal if cox plays the part. I get the hate of her but I also like the play and it seems in the play, the way I've read and done it, frank n furter was easily a hon or trans but there wasn't any idea that crossdressers could go further than crossdressing.

It's a big deal because the character is specifically said to be a transvestite. The point is that Frank N Furter is a dude in drag, the role was never meant to be for a woman, trans or not. There are two possibilities here: Cox is being cast as a crossdressing man, which will result in a metric shitton of backlash from the LGBT community or Fox is trying to make the character into a trans woman, which will result in a metric shitton of backlash from fans of the original. This simply cannot end well.

Second of all, dressing scantily in a place where there are men with little self restraint and a social structure where it is normalized and encouraged is in fact a dangerous thing.
