Well, im just guessing here, but Gender dysphoria is recognized in DSM as mental illness, and since we need HRt medication we probably wouldnt be drafted, even if not recognized as women

They'd need to have a supply of HRT wherever you go, and that's just more logistics to worry about, even if it is a fairly small thing. And there also may be a concern that if you get captured the enemy may manipulate you into revealing secrets by offering you HRT.

Because detransitioning doesn't make the dysphoria (and the need for HRT) go away. They'd be even more unstable; if you forced trannies to detransition they'd probably shoot themselves as soon as they got their weapons.

Pretty simple. I think in most cases they'll be drafted if they still have their gender as male in paperwork/documents/etc (like, they haven't gotten it legally changed yet) but will most likely be turned away when they show up

The odds of a draft happening at all are so fucking low that it's really a moot point anyway, but...

Yes, assuming that they have the right evidence (doctor's testimony, legal gender change, etc.). Women would likely be drafted as well anyway, assuming this happens anytime after a few years from now.

Yes. The only MOSs/ratings most women are probably not usually going to be worth trying to toss them into is 11-series (infantry), 13B (cannon crewman), 13F (fire support specialist), 13M (rocket arty crewman), 18-series (Special Forces), and 19-series (armor, though tank crewman is negotiable there depending on some shit). Used Army because the USMC has equivalents for the same shit and only the spec ops portions of the USAF and USN would matter here which are equiv to SF.

Um, just about anything else? Unlike what you'd think from movies and games, the vast majority of the military, yes even the Army and Marines, are not combatants. Most are the supply clerks, admin goons, finance specialists, intel analysts, various kinds of mechanics, drone operators, engineers, and so on. Very few soldiers or marines are actually grunts, tankers, cav scouts, cannon cockers, FOs, spec ops, and so on, the ones that actually DO call for the sorts of physical strength males can be trained into having more readily on average compared to females.

Even then, though, there still are combat jobs that don't involve strength that women can very capably do as well as pretty much any man with the same training. You can be the most badass grunt since Audie Murphy but that bitch in the jet, helo, or back on FOB running a drone can still effortlessly end your shit with the pull of a trigger.

1: In a situation that calls for a draft we are likely well beyond the point of needing to call up millions of able bodies just to shove a rifle in their hands and throw them into the grinder. A situation that calls for a draft means shit has gotten real, like WMDs are on the menu more than likely.

2: As you acquire more males to fill those specific combat roles you need your logistics system to expand to keep them able to do anything anyway.

Idk. If they ever allow trans people to serve and changed the rules about who would be drafted in the first place i.e.

I wouldn't mind. I dont see them including women in the Selective Service anytime soon. I'm MtF so it really wouldn't matter if the draft happened. That said, however, I would gladly serve my country, no objections.

No. Just like men shouldn't be either. No one should be forced to kill or be killed against their will. I believe there are more than enough volunteers to satisfy their intake requirements. Iirc the military will be downsizing quite soon. They're switching more to fielding specialized, highly trained combat units rather than force in numbers.

Pretty much this, part of why we moved to an all-volunteer military. Of course one amusing thing is that the military has been concerned for a while that so many Americans are overweight and badly out of shape that it's hard to get volunteers that are at a good enough baseline pre-enlistment to meet entry standards.

Believe it or not, that's already been the case since about the 90s, but most definitely post-Clinton era. That's the whole reason the Surge happened: We simply didn't have those Cold War numbers of bodies for quantity for sheer presence needed for COIN and quality only takes you so far there.

The best results seen from the US military efforts came from omnipresent flying death robots. Look at how hard they tried to change the Korengal valley and what was the end result? Nothing. Nothing changed. The surge only appeared to have an effect. The combatants merely hid away until it was over and then came right back. The failure of US strategy in Afghanistan was not the result of not having enough people it was the result of trying to fight an entire population of people, in their own country, with 0 understanding of it. The same thing happened in Vietnam, the same thing happened in Iraq, and there is no way to change the entire culture of a country without maintaining a presence there for 20-40 years.

I was specifically thinking OIF rather than OEF, where drones were far less capable of the whole omnipresent killbot thing given that MOUT fucks that up a bit. In several places in Iraq the overall situation did genuinely improve, and would've had lasting effects even with being pulled out prematurely were it not for ISIS deciding to stomp across the border and Maliki having fucked over his army's capabilities that we built basically from scratch.
OEF was a very different sort of fight from all that I've heard from joes that've deployed there and actually been out the wire. In OIF it was predominantly IEDs, PSAF, and IDF all day erry day, while in OEF it was more complex ambushes IIRC. For OIF we needed the sheer numbers to be able to clear those urban areas room by room, which in OEF was obviously less of a factor.
As for time required for lasting changes on a country-wide basis, I don't think it really needed 20 years. Just another few years beyond when we pulled out of Iraq actually would've been good enough, IMO. Had we signed a sane SoF agreement this would be more or less a non-issue, but that fuckstick Maliki had to give us an offer he knew would couldn't accept.
