Hey /lgbt/. I have to do a paper (small one, about 1.2K words) about (mis)representation of LGBT in well, whatever kind of media I choose. It's from a professional deontological perspective.
My question is, what kind of media do you think would make this easier to do? All media, TV series, films, both tv series and films, advertisement...? The professor asked me what I was gonna do it about and I said LGBT in advertisement, but she said she didn't remember any ads with lgbt people in them so maybe that specific idea was hard.

You could talk about how in comic books they often write gay dudes as incredibly boring and monogamous. I don't mean that all gays are really promiscuous. I mean that comic writers, whom are straight and cis dudes, wanna add diversity by adding homos. But they don't wanna show or be accused of showing the negatively stereotyped flammer slutty kinda gay. So instead they write them into monogamous relationships with no drama. But strictly only that, which stands out as pretty boring compared to most het comic characters getting to fuck around freely.

It's similar to how back when they were first bringing blacks into comics but wanted to subvert the thug uneducated black stereotype. So every writer thought they were being clever by giving them tech skills. And instead of original unique black characters it was just a 100 black characters with lightening powers.

You'd start with midnighter/apollo and end around the dull af billy/hulk-kid.
