But fucking EVERYTHING you could do, actively, is an ethical minefield. Even experiments on animals can rarely be called anything but cruel and unusual, no matter how revelatory. You could spend years making even the most ghoulish ambulance chaser feel ashamed because of how excited you are every morning to search for people whose lives have been ruined by terrible accidents inflicting specific kinds of brain damage.
I have a lot of respect for the people who can hack it.
