so i find it quite hard to grasp how i need to think about the whole gender identity thing.

I know quite a few gay people both dudes and ladays, but I don't know any trans people so im just wondering from an lgbt perspective just so i can try to understand where you come from cause it feels like its so easy to offend people without trying these days i dont wanna fuck up the chance to have a trans friend.

Just don't make a big deal out of it and respect how they want to be treated.
For the science part: It's theorized that the part of the brain that is responsible for gender identity, which is non-plastic after a certain point in the womb, which is influenced by hormone levels, can fail to match up with the physical sex because of insufficient/too high levels of said hormones at very specific points during pregnancy.

yea totally. obviously i can imagine why trans people or gay people or anyone who isnt straight would be protective around straight people. specifically straight men since we have historically been a great source of fuckwitted violence towards lgbt in the past. hopefully that goes away very soon.

but yea discussing and talking is good for everyone.

Im a big fan of bailey jay from some podcasts i have heard her on. Hilarious and not afraid to be honest and isnt shy about anything which i think is really cool.

But fucking EVERYTHING you could do, actively, is an ethical minefield. Even experiments on animals can rarely be called anything but cruel and unusual, no matter how revelatory. You could spend years making even the most ghoulish ambulance chaser feel ashamed because of how excited you are every morning to search for people whose lives have been ruined by terrible accidents inflicting specific kinds of brain damage.

I have a lot of respect for the people who can hack it.

I remember listening to someone talk about some gland that they theorize produces dmt (extremely strong psychedelic) when you dream and when you die. but the only way they could test it would be to kill someone and activly test the levels in the brain the moment they go.
