>>5143973There's a difference between gender identity and the gender you're perceived as by society. That's why passing is a thing. Of course, some people don't care too much about passing and it doesn't make their gender identity invalid (though it does make it less likely that they will be gendered correctly).
>>5144020No one would call you TERFs if you stopped fighting against trans people.
>>5144082Trans is an adjective, so trans women are a subset of women. Or do you think black women, short women, or educated women aren't women?
>>5144133Most people here would not consider misgendering to be an act of violence.
>>5144147You literally said:
>she said she would still call them women just dont think they are women. Which is true, as they are trans-women.>>5144267How does one purge their male privilege?
>>5144288Where are mtfs supposed to go then? They don't belong in male spaces either.
>>5144530If this were /o/ this would be the equivalent of a Ferrari body kit on a Pontiac Fiero - it isn't really a Ferrari, it's a Pontiac Fiero that looks like a Ferrari.
>Do you actually think it's a Ferrari? Does the Pontiac Fiero with the Ferrari body kit deserve to be in the same classification as the Ferrari?Gender transition isn't purely cosmetic. A better metaphor would be a Fiero that looks and performs like a Ferarri, and if it "passes" as a Ferarri (i.e in every relevant trait it is pretty much indistinguishable from a Ferarri) there isn't much practical point in insisting that it's "really" a Fiero.
>>5144586Of course they have some biological traits still linked to their birth sex. But those sorts of things aren't really relevant in everyday interactions. In the ways that ARE relevant they are pretty much the same as the gender they identify as.
