An open intellectual curiosity is needed in order to question all of western society's holy grail's, like the sacredness of life. Even though humans would be happier as hunter gatherers we can't go back. We realize humanity's predicament: that we can create tools that can make us masters of the universe. But we also realize the tools we create isn't created in wisdom and more than usually makes us more miserable.
Therefore I support something like techno-shaman-tribalism. Were both humans need for creating is served and every man has his tribe. Mans need for spiritualism is also served.
Some will see technology as a god and claim that we should make Man fit our sick society and in this way create a utopia but this is at best a pipe-dream and can nevertheless never be implemented on a global scale within the current capitalist system, not to mention for hundreds of years with any measure of success.
I think the immediate goal should be to implement direct democracy though. That, and erase the globe of the power of the central banks. This would already fix 98% of the problems of the modern world. This will never happen unless a free press is created and supplants the corrupt & capital-bound one we have today. The chief reason nothing substantial changes is because the old institutions control the minds of the masses through the press/media and publishing industry unfortunately.
