Any books like Chinatown? Specifically looking for detective fiction that deals with environmental exploitation/land development, and conspiracies that are obscured by bureaucracy and municipal policy. Doesn't necessarily have to be a detective story, but it's a genre I really enjoy. The only one I can think of that (sort of) fits is Inherent Vice.
