He's a smart guy and I like the idea of what he's doing in a lot of his work, but it never really comes out as well as I think it could. I don't think he really has the skill, to be perfectly honest.
There are plenty of moments where you think "I get what he's doing here," but nothing in the writing itself sticks out or helps to further the sublimity of the work, which is a real shame. He seems more like an academic than an artist.
