>>7279842This is true - an Axis victory where Germany achieved it's war aims could have happened, but conquering the mainland USA is nonsense, it wasn't even part of their plan. However the novel isn't really about alternate history (Fatherland is a much more realistic book) but about the authors' belief in other worlds.
Considering how much of the book is just antiques roadshow a real adaptation would mostly consist of lots of characters doing sales pitches of their memorabilia, comparing artifacts from Japanese and American culture etc.
A faithful adaptation would end up more like an ASMR video than an action movie.
