>>7281079The Duke intended to punish Sy, and he made a comment in the Avis chapter that kinda implies Jamie resetting was his fault maybe? It's a reason for Sy to leave the Lambs at some point (ripping the group apart in the process), and I can see the Duke thinking that Jamie was covering a weak spot the others should have been able to compensate for/that they need to learn to function without members.
>>7280976TNC had some nice setup and Mundum was an interesting way to go about the lovecraftian mind-altering thing, but Lugnut made it too obvious and what actually happened at Splatfest was a letdown.
Maybe Lugnut subtly manipulating the course of events by the will of mundum might have helped. Things moving mysteriously, and Lugnut, as an extension of mundum, working behind the scenes to keep deniability(things are not where they should be; the manuscript has selections missing and others highlighted etc).
The suicides were uninspired.
