What are your thoughts on speed reading?
What methods have you tried?
What is your average WPM rate with and without speed reading?
Do you think it decreases your comprehension too much?

The faster you read the less you take in. If you're just reading a story and want to know what happens then an ability to read fast is useful. If you want to actually learn from reading them reading carefully, pausing to reflect and so on is key. The downside is that you don't get to wank your ego off by having read a difficult book in 4 hours

But couldn't you train yourself to read faster without negatively affecting comprehension? Even something small like from 200 to 250 WPM is immensely useful.

That'll come naturally as you read continually but if you consciously act to read quickly then you'll likely miss things and the satisfaction that you're 'improving' may make you overlook it. Can always try it and see if you feel you are taking it in as well.
