The point of this book is you take it on vacation to the beach and drink a couple of vodka cranberries and imagine yourself as a wizard every couple of pages. At no point does it get "good". If you want half decent fantasy I like Joe Abercrombie, at least he feeds male power fantasies, unlike Rothfuss' limp-wristed dream persona

I liked it most of the way through, I really liked how Rothfuss built up Kvothe's myth, and how the narration of his story played off reality. It was cool seeing how Kvothe's legendary status developed not only through his own skill but as many legends do, through luck and opportunity. Fun read, I liked it a lot when I was a teenager, not sure how I'd feel about it now.
