I like literature at the very least, but I don't love it enough to have to suffer through all those tedious Russian (and in the case of the French, humourless) novels of the 19th century. I will only do Anglo-Saxons prior to the 20th century, and even in the 20th century I find their only real competition in the work of German-speakers.
