Hey /lit/,
Recently, I've been getting interested in the historical moment of transition from film to analog video technology. I read some Kittler, Winner, McLuhan, Winston, Postman, Viola, etc., but I realized I've mostly been coming at the topic from a cultural studies/media ecology perspective. Can anyone point me in the direction of something more like "philosophy of aesthetics" that deals with video in the 60s/70s? I'm pretty well-acquainted with philosophical aesthetics from Kant up until Nietzsche, but to be honest I don't know much beyond that. Who are the most interesting aestheticians dealing with new media in the mid-to-late 20th century?
