As an agnostic who has been around Christian thinking long enough to hate it, I've never touched a bible. So... Is there something I'm missing out on?
I'm a HUGE fan of Greek mythology, and that was heavily centered around the religion of that time period. So it stands to reason that the Christian mythos has a few fascinating tales as well, right? My impression is that it's all too boring, but I'm sure I can be proven wrong,
Just to be clear, I'm not looking to get converted. I'm just a fan of old literature who thinks there might be some interesting stories that I've missed. So then, bring me your best. Tell me tales of thrilling adventure, monsters unique to this particular mythos, heroes overcoming impossible odds, and villains doing diabolical things only to be stopped by unlikely heroes. Do this old book some justice and give me a story I can get invested in.
I don't give a fuck about religious politics or the existence of God. The bible is a set of stories, nothing more. Show me some good ones.
