Is it possible to be at peace as a utilitarian? Is there any good answer to the No-Rest objection, or should I just accept that I am, as we all are, scum?
I feel completely alienated from society's ethics, it has no connection to the hedonic calculus, it's just cultural norms dressed up that way. What sane morality allows me to eat pigs but sends people to jail for buying stolen property?
