I'm with you on the infinite list thing, OP. After every book I read I find 5 more that I'd never heard of. It's overwhelming how much good fiction there is out there.

Just alternate between both if you really can't resist reading the 2nd book but only if the first one is pretty long. There's no point dropping a novella/short book when you can finish it pretty quick without just leaving it.
