Hello /lit/. You may remember me. I've made two threads so far. I'm the guy who has begun to read mostly to be able to recommend books to a girl I really like. I realize it's a terrible rape of the art form, but whatever. Anyway, I just finished Slaughterhouse-Five. It's the best book I've ever read. That's not saying much, but I think it's going to be a while before I read a book I like more. 10/10 easily.
I've now read 4 adult novels outside of high school. The others are The Moviegoer, Red Harvest, and Animal Farm. All great. I'm starting to really enjoy reading. Even if I don't get the girl, this really is worth it. I'll see her tomorrow. I might try to work this book into the conversation, though it might be a bad idea because I think her dad is in the military and I maybe should't recommend a book that's clearly labeled on the back "anti-war", even though I don't think the actual content of the book would offend her. Tomorrow I might start The Catcher in the Rye. I've been a couple of times that I remind someone of the main character. I've also been told that that's an insult.
