Partially Examined Life. This is an in-depth philosophy podcsst, with prescribed readings before each episode (although they're not mandatory)

BBC's In Our Time: Philosophy series. They usually talk to professors etc.

Both are pretty comfy.

Lars Brownworth and Mike Duncan are good history podcasters.

not a big fan of Dan Carlin myself although I can see why a lot of people like him.

I agree, Dan his voice can be very annoying at times. I liked his podcast about the mongols though, always goes really in-depth too and tries to offer different perspectives.

Yeah, l just finished Blueprint for Armageddon, that's why l was asking for some other recs. Really looking forward to his next release.

Anything similar to HH you'd recommend?

Also, is Dan's Common Sense worth listening to?

Listened to that one too, quite good. Didn't listen to Common Sense however, neither do I know something alike, but if you enjoy listening to people casually talking and fleshing out subjects whilst talking to eachother "Stuff You Should Know" is quite good. Radiolab by WNYC Studios is one I can recommend very, very strongly. The production value is great, and everything they talk about very in-depth.

Lexicon Valley: similarly well-edited but also very conversational podcast about word origins

Waking Up: Sam Harris' podcast about non-magical spirituality and other stuff that he has written about in his book - nigger is well spoken as FUCK

Untitled Patrick Rothfuss Podcast: Patrick Rothfuss talks about his books and is super likable and fun to listen to

Good Job Brain: Supremely well planned and very well edited trivia podcast
