A little experiment here:

I'm a phull (and engorged) member of the Philolexian Society of Columbia University and our annual Joyce Kilmer Memorial Bad Poetry Contest is coming up. If /lit/ wants to write something for it, I'll read it at the contest. If it's good enough, it will be published in our literary journal: Surgam, and if it wins, /lit/ will be the official poet laureate of the society for the year.

Here are a couple suggestions:

It's a "bad poetry" contest so whatever's submitted doesn't have to be phenomenal. Typically the poetry is either metrically concise with garbage content about a really profound subject, or it's metrically garbled with really profound content, but those rules aren't hard and fast. If there's interesting and related content, I may do some editing to string it together into a viable poem, and then submit it here again for approval before it's read in front of the society.

If nothing of merit comes about from this, I'll just read my own poetry, but I figured I'd give /lit/ the opportunity to get published and actually provide something interesting.

Cheers fuckers!
