I mean, they use irony like no tomorrow, but it's to point out that most forms of entertainment are garbage... and they have a lot of earnest characters, like Tom in Tom goes to the mayor, and in people like James Quall and David Liebe Hart. It's not necessarily condescending, it celebrates the awkwardness of weirdos, and derides shitty, contrived and patronizing entertainment. I guess what I'm asking is, is Tim and Eric just cheap irony, and if not, would DFW hate it anyway?
