Learning about philosophy and the subsequent study of it abolished my ability to follow any philosophy whatever. Want to into stoicism? First you have to read all about it, then you have to read related material, historical significance, etc. By the time you have the data on stoicism, you don't really want to do it any more. And so you move on to the next philosophy like a virus inhabiting its host and leaving only a hollow shell in your wake. Its a surprise that any philosophy survives people's knowledge of it. Then you stalk, lurking like the worm you are, to the next philosophy with that tiny gleam of hope that it exhibits only to snuff that flame again and again in a tragic cycle of abandonment and weak half hearted appropriation.

Eh, I just don't complain about what I can't change, and I also try not to get stressed about things, because stress is almost always unnecessary. Stressing about things only makes your situation worse, because you put pressure on yourself to try to improve it - it's better just to improve it without stressing. If you know what to do, just do it and then you're good. And if you can't improve it, don't worry or complain about it, because you can't change it anyway.

Also, I believe in an objective morality, so I try to align myself as much as possible to the idea of absolute goodness in character.

I've been struggling with finding that answer. As time goes on I see every philosophy in regards as to how one should live is a construct built to defend against the withering abuse of the nihilistic reality of the universe. I don't subscribe to nihilism in any real sense, I feel existential dread on occasion but I don't think I truly believe there is no meaning, but I can't seem to find any meaning in the universe that isn't a fabrication. I'm starting to come to the decision to place my greatest source of pleasure, the arts, as the shining height of human endeavor, and then rationalize the reasons for why I find this to be true.

I see most philosophies and ideologies as conquering generals carving out realms in the sea of nothingness. Perhaps I'll follow in their wake, or maybe I'll do something less ambitious and concentrate on personal relationships and growth, as I said, I'm undecided.

Power and desire (in the form of love) are the being of God. I cannot rationalize the thought, but I accept the Christian notion that God is omniscient in some way which is analogous to but entirely different from human intelligence.

This one God is three persons as argued by Augustine. In any case I think there is much to be said for what has been called the "way of affirmation" in the faith, which is the affirmation of the sensual world for its divine source, rather than the rejection of it; though rejection is also necessary in some degree.

Man is miserably inadequate in his service to love as he is in his service to God. You don't have to explain this by the doctrine of Original Sin, but it is the best way of thinking about it.

The great defect of the English-speaking world at present is the worship of power and sanity, for which worship we have lost power and sanity. The worship must be first and foremost of God who is love; all the great virtues proceed from ruthless and orthodox repentance and worship. I do not mean to say I am above this folly, for I was born into it, and I suffer for it also.

In short, my life philosophy is a very defective and miserable spin on orthodox Christianity, but I have tried to be as orthodox as possible. I am sure that others have come closer to the real core of it than I have, and I hope to one day see so clearly as they.

The means of production isn't one thing and the uses of these things isn't special knowledge to one person. Incentive existed before capitalism and there is more than monetary incentive even under capitalism. Innovation existed before capitalism and isn't tied to incentive.
