>>7301452>No, that's definitely Joyce and WallaceMaybe hipsters are different where you live, but I can tell you for certain that all the hipsters I know have huge raging fake boners for Vonnegut, Camus, Orwell, Sylvia Plath, and Douglas Adams. Yes, there are a few who try and say they love Wallace and Joyce, but the fact is that the moment you press them about any of their work, they start spouting off bullshit like, "I just really like the ambiguous nature of their texts," or, "They really broke new ground with their experimental techniques." The moment you probe them about any meaningful criticism, it's very clear that they either A.) have never read Joyce or Wallace B.) Read some quotes off of goodreads, sparknotes, or wikipedia or C.) Read portions of their works before giving up. The problem with Joyce and Wallace is you can't really bullshit having read them like you could with people like Vonnegut, Camus, and Adams (wikipedia doesn't and can't really explain shit when it comes to Wallace and Joyce's texts).
