A month and a few days after it's creation, the previous thread finally hit the bump limit and is heading toward the last page of the board. So here come this brand new 70s and 80s mecha thread to replace the older one and keep the legacy going. You had no access to a computer for the last month and are curious of what happened in the previous thread? Here it is

Most of you already know the rules, right? If not, here's what this thread is for: argue, discuss and dump stuff like artworks, fanarts (if they're well made of course), sketches, magazines' scans, artbooks, DVD/VHS/LD/CD/BD's covers, ads, musics, screen-caps and so on, that have a link to a Sci-Fi and Mecha anime/comic/novel/film/OVA.

One question about Dougram: For Shigeru Chiba's character/Festo's replacement, is the romanization for his name supposed to be "George" or "Giorgio?"
Anonymous
>>13385932 I always took it at as Giorgio.

>>13380049 >is Yellow supposed to be applying Visual Kei? It certainly suits his effeminate, colorful persona along with the Glam and New Wave styles at the time.
>Would the whole OVA be basically Yellow trying to get over PTSD? His flashbacks seem more like reminiscing, as if he's not so much traumatized over the war as he is longing to see the friends he made during that time. If there was any PTSD, he probably got over it within the two years between the show and the OVA.

If there was any PTSD, he probably got over it within the two years between the show and the OVA. Two years? I imagined it longer than that judging by how humanity was able to rebuild civilization after getting the Earth back. Likewise with the ruins Yellow visits at the beginning of the OVA.
Also, in regards to the flashback, given the fact Yellow met Stig and the others while fighting the Inbit, wouldn't him missing them be somewhat PTSD-ish?

Sasuraiger! Haven't seen the show yet, but I love Sasuraiger's design, the theme song is amazing, and the figure was dirt cheap on Amazon.

>>13400612 >>13400619 Such a shame that the line failed.
Sure, I wasn't too thrilled about the first ones since the paint of them wasn't exactly the most durable one and easily chippable due to some design-flaws but the later ones like Baldios, Gravion and the like were damn great and for "only" 3000yen worth the money.

Anonymous
>>13411715 Very much the latter (since only a handful of eps and the movie are done). The only way it'll get subs now is if Luurah has little enough on his plate to get interested in picking it up, so feel free to learn moon.

Was the Great Mazinger manga fully translated? Everything I've tried to find of it seems to only give the first five chapters, and I really don't see it being that short given the way it cuts off after the fifth. I'd rather not have to watch the anime just because Mazinger Z's subs have huge filesizes like

Calm down. I'm literally just taking the Hulu subs and putting them on a better video source. The chances of LoDM getting better subs are null at this point, so I might as well make take the least painful subs and put it on RAWs with the right aspect ration. A Discotek release would probably just be putting the TOEI subs onto a disc, too.
The only reason it and Acro have been held up is a mix of life, laziness, and the usual subninja shit. Acro also needs me to find a TL checker, since I have no idea how accurate the subs are so I have that on the backburner.
Hopefully I'll have the first few eps of Gaiking out soon. Gonna try and shoot for dropping episodes in time for the tenth anniversary.
