Incredible episode, the two of them are the reason I enjoyed Patlabor 2 so damn much. I mean granted you could make an entertaining film about any of the characters in the Patlabor series but man, Shinobu and Goto, so fucking good.

Probably my favorite episode along with Snow Rondo.

It was a primary reason but hardly her only one. TV continuity went a little deeper into it since it had more time for character development, remember the episode where the JSDF tried to poach her?

I question how long you could retain that intensity of an allegedly non-romantic relationship without spontaneously fucking or at least kissing while lewdly holding hands , especially with how many extreme situations they find themselves in on a regular basis. Bottom is movie 2. Movie 1 and TV shared slightly modified OVA1 designs, if not an art style. At its core it's just a hint of mess to her hair but it adds a surprising amount.
