I'd like to post more often but my connection is pretty shakey lately due to bloody thunderstorms fucking shit up.
It's a miracle I'm posting here right now.

Also, Dev_Anon, I managed to find a solution for music, a friend of mine told me about LMMS, it's quite a nice program and it's free software as well, so no problem with licenses cockblocking us.
As soon as I learn to use it proficiently I'll post stuff.

A few designs have been thrown around but there is a lineage of suits as well as differences between the larger factions.

The default Earth space suit was designed entirely to protect the wearer from the many hazards in a exposed vacuum. Thicker covering and ease of access as improved articulation without a loss of user visibility on the design. There are hardpoints for additional loadout and attachments. The standard pilot suit holds about 12 hours of oxygen.

Due to the introduction of the crustacean like Nereid mecha, a new suit was simultaneously developed to allow a form fitting design along with full open face visor. Inserting the proper cockpit mechanisms for human-use into a Nereid chest cavity has been proven fatal. The newer model suits allow for stronger sensations as the entire cockpit GUI is projected directly from the helmet think vastly superior F-35 pilot helmet.

Otherwise we have a strong utilitarian approach for the final designs.

You can do whatever you like as it's expected to take hundreds if not thousands of images to make this game whole. There also isn't a lead designer. Also the entire idea, names and designs we're from a number or random submissions. We continue to express them until something unique is born. We're in the right direction but far from set in stone. With this much effort there's no reason to not upscale and truly make something worthwhile where fun and creative freedom is allowed.

The official demo needs more and of course this is a previous version in which I was happy to make use of your provided sprites. I really want to complete the experience before we show off any future reveals. In the next build expect animations, BG, GUI and a bit of sound/music to be there.

The introductions and in-depth script building is mostly where majority of the effort lies. The writing is fairly far ahead of what is shown. Once the multiple bridges are connected we'll able to feature the first choices and monitor the skill and morale of the player. There will be stats however I haven't decided if there should be hidden tracking or have their own visible menu, etc. Another concern is the combat portion that immediately follows. An interactive cockpit would be the icing on the cake. Honestly the sky is the limit with enough framework.

Can we see Sarah doing Sarah things?

From what we've gathered she has a sarcastic sense of humor who speaks in a soft voice. She has a surprisingly sharp wit when she applies herself, but most times, she likes to sleep in and just do whatever.

She's not afraid to call someone out on their bullshit, but she'll think of the snarkiest way possible. Some may not feel the impact until the conversation is long over.

She's also a realist/atheist. She does not have a romantic view of things, she's more likely to tell you why something works rather than tell you everything is going to be okay.

She may not have immediate friends but I'm sure the cast will warm up to her. She has incredible premonition that peaks when she is around Shiro.

From what we gathered, along with the pace of the board, results typically vary and many that pledge often disappear back to the anonymous shadows.

We're actually very open to design submissions as the entire trope of the project is to reflect our favorite qualities of how we define mecha as a genre. Recruitment has been somewhat nerve wracking but I have solutions outside this board. We'll maintain these threads for as long as we can but I see us moving forward as we need a community that flourishes in the idea of completing these type of games.

With the archive dead it's a bit more difficult for newcomers to pick up where we leave off. The entirety of the project was spawned here and until recently we've seen a generous amount of potential. I miss the fair share of creator discussion, the brave few that showed off the personalities and quirks for their own original concepts. Presentable biographies would help, however we are nose deep just into the script alone. I'll see what I can muster by the end of the day.

To put it simply, if that is the will of masses. I wouldn't call it a VN quite yet as the embodiment of /m/ as a whole is difficult to contain.

While Visual Novels allow one to pull off light gameplay with multiple branched routes and endings. Our intent is to not produce a seemingly joke or dating sim.

This project has been built with the hands of only a few. Dedicated artist and writers from the very beginning made it clear there was a staple of quality. For that reason we want to parody everything we love about mecha in the first place. As much as I love Gundam, this will be nothing like your typical setting.

With that in mind I wanted to give the illusion of free will. There's all these characters and mecha, but its up to you on deciding which to develop on, we actually did a poll some time ago and selected the 5 +1 routes to be included. The romance portion of the game being secondary or optional the story is character driven but some girls are just too cute. I'd prefer the players to adjust parts, skills, or which weapons to loadout for anti-mech combat.

So we understand our place in making a serious attempt as well as keeping the maintaining a balance. Expect there to be excitement, laughs and tears.

That's what I do in my free time. Been assigning the templates per character and their expressions. How the decision flags alter the script and choices. Setting variables, creating transitions and menus. I have a very early demo to show the basic sprite with LiveComposite. Meanwhile we develop the art, music and writing. Typically results are posted here or sent to email. Finding one dedicated background artist/concept has been most challenging.

I have a lot of ideas to include and much change is needed. There is a lot of backbone and I really don't want to spoil it until we're happy with the completion of the introduction chapters.

Space pirates are to be a reoccurring enemy that perhaps you can sway to join you in the finale. They are very gimmicky and would like to give theme and spread the influence to the mooks without being too silly. Essentially they cannibalize mecha to profit or improve their own. Also the legendary Bomb Shrapnel survives many conflicts unscathed.

This is actually a really fun idea.

Other than Lilah as Char or Sarah as Lalah. I would be great to see what everyone picks. Shiro maybe in Amuros pilot suit. There's a lot of other good picks too. Oz likely is in a silly 2 person costume like a horse...or kaiju. Captain a boob monster like Sumeragi.

Where all the mecha enthusiasts at? Did we come up for a reason behind either the particle disruption or the viability of close proximity combat in space? How does this relate to fleet movement speed? Are the mecha the all end solution to this type of warfare?

I've always suggested going the electronic warfare route and having countermeasures so effective that getting up close and shooting dumb munitions is about all you can do. Mecha aren't the end all solution but a CVBG is still the biggest lion in the jungle with the greatest force projection.

Smaller ships can still duke it out and have some defense against weaker mecha but ultimately their goal is to act as screens for the carrier. Basically make it modern carrier ops in space.

I don't know if anybody else is into modern naval warfare like I am though and actually finds those sorts of things exciting.

I've been thinking about Lost Fleet's take on combat. It actually happens within milliseconds and super targeting systems are needed to hit anything since everything is moving relatively quick. But then again, they travel the galaxy and aren't restricted to just the SOL system. Maybe it's really hard to hit anything at cruising speed or the speed we need to make it to a planet within system in a reasonable amount of time.

Well, I know I said it before, but how here's I'm setting this up: Combat doesn't happen on the way to planets or stations, but at the beginning and end of a journey usually. Unless they pick something up on sensors and decide to diverge, but they would still need to slow down a lot so they don't overshoot their targets. Also, leyline disturbance will be another separator between Nereid pilots and the others.

Looks neat. My only excuse for not delivering upon my promises of drawing emblem concepts and such is laziness and lack of motivation. I did get around to redoing the one for the rebels under The Lion.

The main arc is Neptune and the big blank spot above that is where a unit number would go in, like IV inf. or II mec. to denote where exactly the person/unit belongs. I'm really channeling the war-criminal roots of the faction's concept with this one though because the slavrunes are a blatant reference to the Tigers, who were officially called the Cpпcкa дoбpoвoљaчкa гapдa.

You could do something like Elite Dangerous. In that, ships can use their made up sci fi super duper drive systems to either jump between systems through some kind of hyperspace analogue, or 'supercruise around one system at speeds approaching (or far exceeding) C. But while in supercruise ship's sensors still work, and it's possible to pick up other ships and, with the right gear, interdict them and pull them out of supercruise and force them to use their impulse engines, which operate in mere meters per second, forcing them into a dogfight.

So basically, standard giant robot fighting speed would use a separate drive from reasonable system cruising speed, but they can't fight in the latter and can potentially be pulled out of it and left exposed while the drives spool up.
