But looking it up, it seems full T. Rex forelimbs weren't discovered until 1989.
That said, other tyrannosaurs limbs had been discovered with two fingers, so it had long been hypothesized the T. Rex was the same, and reconstructions of it followed suit, even if some cartoons and toys still deviated.
