If T-N did soft-subs, they'd be more popular with more casual fans, O-T added hardsubs they'd be more popular with the more casual streaming crowd.
O-T probably missed out by not grabbing up the streamers when they first started
T-N... nothing would be different, except they'd in-directly be working with translaters from other groups (since they'd just modify T-N's groundwork). I know that wouldn't happen though, and because of them, since they even hate the idea of someone removing "TV-NIHON" from the subs.
