Yes. Unfortunately ADV subs from that era were absolutely terrible, you should see their Mazinkaiser, they can't even translate attack names consistently (SKURANDER OOKU). But yes, Benkei is saying Genki went all autism after his sister died.

Well they WERE on autopilot. But 1st generation Getters are really shit compared to Getter G, so yes Ryouma is just that good.

They released a drama CD (真ゲッターロボ外伝月面十年戦争〜戦慄の予感) during the OVA's run that is the Moon Wars scenario. Later, Ken Ishikawa made a short story about the Moon Wars that's featured as an extra in the Shin Getter Robo manga. Neither of those, however, will satisfy what you want since the Ishikawa chapter is short and the drama CD is untranslated and just an audio story.
