>>13426373>Dr. Who has been going for decades and people eat that up more than ever.It hasn't been running non-stop though, there was a 15 year break after the show was cancelled in 1989, before it's revival in 2005. There was very clearly fatigue, which resulted in it being cancelled the first time. You can blame the bad writing and acting, sure, but there's a point where a show loses it's audience and popularity after it's gone on too long without any improvements. The only reason it's popular right now is because it was very cleverly marketed in the US around 2010 and 2011, and television shows, especially via streaming sites, are more popular than ever.
Regarding Gundam, people obviously did not like very much what they were seeing going from G - Wing - X. If IBO and Thunderbolt are just as poorly received as G-Reco, people are obviously going to lose interest in Gundam as well. Luckily, we had the massive successes of Unicorn and The Origin to balance things out. Though after The Origin ends in about a year or more's time, and we're just left with the sour taste Thunderbolt and IBO will leave us, Western and Japanese Gundam fans alike will most likely start getting tired of the constant stream of low quality shows. Whatever comes out after IBO, apart from Thunderbolt, will probably be just as bad as it and G-Reco was.
I predict a string of Gundam shows lasting until the inevitable collapse in 2018, at which point we'll get nothing until 2022.
