Does anyone else think that Gundam should just focus more on the mobile suit battles and not waste our time on nonsense pretend politics?

That's honestly probably more accurate than the Miyazaki one. Which series do you think he hates the most? I'd say GBF for the commercialization, but maybe he'll grudgingly respect it for jot even pretending to be something other than a means of moving plastic.

Honestly, I doubt he's seen any of the other gundam shows, maybe parts of it, the pilot. He's an old guy, directing a TV show is a full time gig, he probably doesn't want to spend his free time watching more shit at this point.
