>>13418766The thing that bothers me about the Thunderbolt GM, and actually thunderbolt designs in particular, is that all of it hardly fits into the OYW aesthetic established by the other shows. Mobile suits had maneuvering thrusters, but never that many because AMBAC negated the need for liberal application of them throughout the mobile suit, and they were only used on points where it was thought it would be most efficient.
>>13419218 is better. I can take the idea that some GMs were modified for use in a sector that had an above average amount of debris, but at least put it all on an existing GM type.
And then there's stuff like this thing
>>13419455. Almost every Gundam in the OYW is an RX-78 derivative, and it shows visually, but this thing is completely foreign. It sure as hell doesn't use the Semi-monocoque construction that the V project pioneered, or even the movable frame that they slowly built towards later. That's a pretty serious oversight, since in Federation mobile suits, the inner layer of the armor is the primary load-bearing structure while the inner-frame focuses more on articulation, power supply, and inner plumbing for propellant (in addition to providing secondary load-bearing properties.) It looks like something made in an AU that was brought over to the OYW era in UC and called "RX-78" for shits and giggles. The only way they could get away with this design is if they said it was based on Zeon design principles, since Zeon built MS differently in that they built the frame first and built the armor around it (see Kampfer.)
