>>13430014>Because I'm pretty sure Sunrise's stance over this is: If it's animated, it is canon.I'm pretty sure you're retarded for thinking that after the bajillion times it's been clarified, including in the very mechatalk thread that originated from, that the Japanese don't have an equivalent term for canon and generally tend to not care about it with the level of autism that western fiction fans do.
The "if it's animated, it's official" rule was meant to apply to individual MS, not the stories they are part of. the GM Blue Destiny got a pass because the writers used an existing unit and gave it modifications, while things like the RF Zeon Suits from Formula Wars 0122 are frowned upon due to the fact that Mars Zeon did not have access to the resources to produce them, even though the Sunrise execs don't have a problem with the concept of the RF Zaku, Dom, Gouf, Gelgoog, etc in itself. The story itself, however, got a passing mention in the discussion and they seem relatively okay with it.
Something being animated does not make it part of the mainstream continuity, it merely means that it was produced by Sunrise and so the MS used in it has their stamp of approval in the story they're part of.
