>>13427536Having seen his work before I can safely say it encompasses exactly what I've grown to dislike in run of the mill western mecha.
Seriously. It's the same shit over and over. "Realism" and chicken walkers out the ass. I'm not saying it's bad but it's not my taste.
The West, or in this case the European East does not have developed experience or taste for robots. Western Euopeans; Brits, French, nations responsible for good eurocomix, other East Aisian nations; these nations IMO have better robots. The US has had some experience and good stuff too but it's sporadic, and more commonly you get lame shit trying to keep things "realistic" in most mainstream media.
Rob Schrab's okay, Doug Tennapel's okay, AD2000 any day, Atomic Robo is okay, but bowlegged headless bevel powersuit #XX whatever is something I don't ever think I can enjoy. Walkers are okay, but this kind is lame and common.
On a similar vein I have grown to hate neon robots. There's a way to do these kinds of things right and I ain't feeling it here.
Handtoeye is really cool by the way, check out his gallery.
