Like I said, it depends upon your country of origin. When I filled out declaration documents for US it was a bunch of boxes to check and an approximate value of the item. This is something you should really talk with your seller about, it may already be covered in the shipping cost.

I've ordered bespoke shirts from a company that custom makes them in Pakistan and then ships them to the US. They list the actual cost of manufacture as the value of the product. This is actually an accounting question that is answered by "when is value added?"

In any event, it isn't cut and dry. And when I order a $90 shirt and the customs form says "$2" I sure do feel like I got duped ;)

Sure, as already said you can use pollypellets or if you need even more weight glassy pellets but for big plush it is not such a good option they are gonna mix with her shape applying more pressure than fiber or polypellets. You can also put those pellets in small bags and shove them into the insides of your plush

There's one guy who buys shit for around three hundred, but I've only gotten two commissions from him.

Honestly I would have given up years ago if I didn't enjoy making them. Even so it's hard going.

if you were to make one yourself following OP's guides, you could "easily" make her for a about a third the price

I'm seriously contemplating making a small lewd pony plush to see how well it would do. But I'm not sure I could bring myself to.

Super stupid story and question time:

So I tried out an embroidery machine for the first time on something other than cotton and I fucked everything up. I tried using ultra cuddle fleece because that's what I had on hand and what I work with a lot, but I think it's just not going to do well because it's slippery and all the little fuzz bits get pulled inbetween the embroidary. I pulled it as taut as I could while tightening the hoop. Also I know fuck all about interfacing and I used a stiff tear away kind and put it on the backside of the fabric when I put the fabric in the hoop. Are you supposed to put it on the top because the embroidery looked much better backwards than it did on the front. Please help my autistic ass cause I just want to make giant cuddly pones.

I haven't embroidered on fleece before, but I imagine it will be sorta similar to minky. On the top you want a water soluble stabilizer, while on the bottom you will probably want an iron on cutaway mesh stabilizer like Floriani Fusible No Show nylon mesh. Also don't tighten your hoop like crazy or you will give your piece hoop burn. You should just be able to firmly push the material into the hoop and tighten a slight bit afterwards.

What machine, and what is it you're embroidering? There's a lot of shitty embroidery files out there, and if not done right, they will look like shit.

I get that wanting to fuck a plush isn't normal at all, but I'm not sure why it gets more flak than the tons of odd fetish porn that gets thrown around in this fandom. It's almost tame in comparison (unless you're talking about certain plush abominations)

I'm not sure if it's the mere concept that makes people react almost violently vs just not liking it, or if it's simply the fact many of the examples out there look horrifying and /or fetishistic.

Then again, I've seen a positive response to some of the lewd stuff put on DB. The DIY lewd Lyra plush and the Clopaholic Rarity bits have a pretty high rating, and Z8MW's Fluttershy has a decently positive score. Even that old ass Lunapetal Twilight plush with the Mary toy has a pretty decent score.

I've got one the commissioner asked for by the 22nd for a con, so I'm finishing her on Sunday, and everyone else is proceeding as planned. I've had a lot of life stuff get in the way of plushing lately due to my aunt moving out, my fiancé moving in, and wedding planning. Last weekend my aunt fell at her apartment and was in the hospital for a couple days, then needed supervision. Hopefully this week everything will be calm. I plan to have all the bodies stuffed and attached by Thursday-Friday, and get started on all the hairs around the same time. Hopefully everyone finished no later than late November. Each beanie takes 3-4 days start to finish, and with 30 some total beanies, that means three-ish months total for everyone.

I dunno how explicit I want to get into, but I'll tell a little of my experience.

Being with a life size is amazing. At night I can wrap myself in her limbs and cuddle up, covering part of my body with her tail. I like to have her snuggle me like in pic related (except we both face each other). I can cuddle her like in >>25109455 during the day, looking at her eyes or just resting my chin on her muzzle and staring at her. It's really quite nice and relaxing and yes, occasionally arousing.

Other times I just have her around laying in my lap during the day while working on the computer or sitting next to me while watching TV.

As far as the lewd stuff, there's really not a lot to say or that I think I want to say outside of technical details.

She isn't rock hard stuffed so there's a lot of flexibility as far as position is concerned. So, I have a giant plush, and one thing I loved when I first got her was that she smelled like new fabric. It was a scent that was 'unique' to her. Now, well, she smells like me, my bed, my blankets, ect. I don't smell, I shower and wear deoderent, it's just that now she seems like just another piece of furniture.

I actually bought a bunch of scent oils online in order to create a scent for my waifu. I imagined she (Twi) would smell lightly of lilac, with hints of straw and earth. I actually found all these scents online, but haven't had time to try and find the perfect proportions to create the smell I think of as Twi's.

Everyone smell to some degree. The amount and pungency of the odor depends on your cleanliness of course. Eventually you are gonna impart that smell no matter what. Instead of just masking the smell you should probably clean her, then perfume if desired.

It may seem so, but I always thought it made sense even if plush fever hit a person who started with a healthy brain and end up with a brain infected with love. I usually put some nuts into the legs of the plushie. If it's a 30-cm one, two nuts per leg and one nut into the butt (this sounds wrong...) should help ofsetting the weight of the bigass head.

You just need to wash and stuff the nuts carefully so they don't stick out and make the plush solid in touch, but these do not rust and whatsoever.

Most plushes are machine sewn. The general straight stitch on those should be enough to secure your pieces together.

As far as hand stitching parts on (head to body, mane, etc) hidden stitch is what you're after. 99% that's the stitch you'll be using for everything you sew on your plush

That's a fair point, and one I'd love to try fixing at some point, however, I agree with >>25144516 that the front view should take priority over the side view. While I try to make a plush that looks as good as possible, my "goal" is to create plushes that are going to be loved rather than put on a shelf. My own experience basically agrees with this. That's not to say improvements to the side view are gonna be ignored in the future.

My goal is to make the cuddliest, and highest quality (waifu) plush I can. Like I'm in the middle of the excruciatingly slow and annoying process of digitizing a set of eyes as applique because I feel like they are probably gonna hold up longer and are softer than embroidery.

Obviously I want it to look the best it can, and I won't settle for something that is less than I can make. For example that plush had her tail and mane both redone because they didn't look good, despite people telling me at least one of them was passable. I also decided to learn how to digitize all the embroidery myself because I wanted to make something that looked a cut above.

I attack these things with the same thought process as when I made a giant waifu plush for myself.

Based on their track record, I wouldn't trust anything 4DE says at this point. It's been a whole year since Fluttershy and Rarity were put up on their site and they still don't exist.
