Depending on how asinine and assholish the local Steel Rangers are, probably keeping the lights on after dark.
You don't have biofuels to use, dried horse dung isn't that good for burning a long time in enclosed spaces, aside from the smell its a rather carbon and soot bearing fuel with a high ignition point and low return for an open design that would give light.

The various light sources would thus be magical since there is an apparent lack of electrical systems given the nonexistence of windmills or treadmills connected to dynamos.
This could also be part of why the wasteland is so stupid, its living a in a post fuels world where the few places with effective power are also the most assholish and paranoid defensive ones able to hold onto them.

Yes I have plans and an essay on such a world, no it doesn't work for magical nuclear horses with an apparent dislike for living in tight spaces or lack shrubbery and green things.

How debased should raider rape porn be? Some of the examples just seem to have the victim sort of space out or start enjoying it, but I imagine it would be a lot more pleading and sobbing as they get raped, let alone what would be done to them. That would largely depend on the victim.
Some would play along to not anger the guy who has them at his mercy, others would fight him or maybe wait for an opportunity to catch him off guard, and some would plead.
The victims general lifestyle and experience would likely be the biggest deciding factor. Hard living breeds individuals who can take abuse in stride.

I was thinking on writing my story with two protagonist, half a chapter narrated by each of them.
Give them a different personality that would reflect on the way their parts are written

Any stories that successfully do this so i could get some more ideas? I know a lot that have a normal 1st person narration and then change to a 3rd perspective
The only one i can think is occupational hazard, if i am correct that was a collaboration between 2 authors
Also, what would you say the limit of narrators should be? are two points of view already pushing it? what if i add a third one that it is only used on some counted occasions?

So how come there isn't more wasteland ponies that in times of great desperation turn to selling their bodies?

Like they need caps fast for that packet of Rad-away, or that Fixer/Drug Treatment, or just need a bed and food for the night, so they go for the quickest buck they can find, which entails getting fucked by two of the town guards in a back alley. And they try to justify it in their head, but they leave the encounter hating themselves because they actually enjoyed it somewhat and they feel like a whore.

Would like more varied lewd stories that isn't just plain vanilla or some crazy stupid fetish torture stuff. The idea above at least fits with a lot of the themes and elements in the wasteland.

you know there was a scene in Viva Los Pegasus, somewhat near the beginning.
The Protagonist, Farsight, witnesses a mother of two purchase food for her children and then immediately proceed to reluctantly prostrate herself for the greasy cook to fuck her in public. He was kind of an asshole but the idea was she had literally no way to pay him for her children to eat, so she let him fuck her. She didn't enjoy it.

It is. And it's comically boring too. In the first chapter (or was that the prologue?), the narrator rambles on and on about nuclear reactors. It's like reading a textbook by someone who can't write and doesn't know what they're talking about.

Agreed. There's no way she'd have public sex like that, especially if she didn't want to do it at all. Even if the grocer was saying for her to do that, she could easily have prostituted herself out the night before and keep some semblance of dignity. A better way to do it I think would be the protagonist only overhears it in conversation, and then the store owner smiles and shuts down his shop for a moment and heads off with her.

Or you could use it to show your protagonist has some sense of morality and have him step in and pay for the food for her. Would be good if he sort of acted selfish or like an asshole previously to show that in the end he is still a decent pony.

Tropes aren't bad, don't confuse them with cliches. Sure, some tropes can be cliche, but not all of them are. Don't be afraid to use the good ones in your writing.

And to answer your question, a parent + offspring team would be something new and refreshing in FoE. Do it.

As in, its quite plausible most of the vault deaths had far more to do with everyone being dead before they worked out it was a test small.

Stables should have been much larger, I would personally hold that it was in the thousands per location, simply so you have an effective number to work from.
This is really true in towns where people love to write it as 3 to a dozen faces, holding off hordes. That's not much for protection from ghouls and absorbing losses to raiders and slavers.

Its going to have an internal magazine, simply because there is no way for the bullets to get past the guard otherwise. Especially as the trigger is right where a normal magazine would go, blocking the action and still not allowing proper feeding.

Arsenal discussion time?

I've got a 5.56 carbine with three loaded 20 round mags, 2 Nagants with 48 stripper clips 2 .30 caliber and 1 .50 bmg cans full of brick 7.62 x 54r along with a spare crate of spamcans, one Mossberg 500a with 5 buckshot, 13 slug, and 37 7.5 birdshot shells, and a Mossberg Plinkster with 1000 .22lr rounds but no magazines.
I have 2 Leathermen, one combination hammer and hatchet, 30 2.5 inch throwing knives, and 5 foot length of .5 inch copper pipe.
Oh and a 4 gallon 60 psi liquid dispersal unit with 1/8 inch opening.

In the mail I have a 1911 clone in .45acp coming. Should be fun to play with.

I think I'd do pretty well in the wastes.

As for tie ins, I can't think of any with a Hellhound and Maripony beyond Anywhere but Here, but Fuckles is a bitch, so it wouldn't work short of a strap on.

I mean, it could be changed to Pip, add a few minor changes, and just have it be she split off from the rest when they were running prior to the hospital. But I'm not exactly sure how to work with established characters in "official" things. The Mastral smut worked due to it just being the meme written out, but nothing else has official with it. Even my Mistress Rocksalt stuff turned out to be flagrantly wrong with Breezeheart being gay and Rocksalt having no interest in sex, or kindness.

Hello everybody, sorry for being late.

Time to talk about Longtalons, and we're here in this puddle again.

I dunno what to say about it. I like it, its pretty good actually and its depressing seeing a story this good getting no attention. But this story is for like the third time a fic that is way too safe for me to really extrapolate some sort of opinion for it.

Well, its my job here more or less so I'll give it a shot I guess.

Besides my initial complaint of it being much too safe. Which I do admit isn't exactly a bad thing in terms of fics, I mean its not any reason to ignore a good fic just because "The setting isn't risky enough for me."

Its actually pretty good, formatting is nice and solid, grammar is good as far as I can see, characters "from what I've read" they seem to be pretty interesting and are unique enough that none of them bleed together in an uninteresting mess, like I can tell characters apart for example.

But my problem here is that its so "good" that I can't really say much very detailed about it. Like there's nothing mediocre or bad, nothing great its just a nice solid unwavering 7 out of 10.

I'm probably not the most equipped to talk about this in that sense, so to cut a really bad review short, It was good enough to check out.

I'm going to let those that have read more and like the setting more then I convince you in that sense.

Its good.

I think part of the issue is that too many writers just tap the fic buttons and not enough try for something, meaningful.

I mean look at me, I kill the pov character at the end, and now people actually remember what I wrote. Sure its as being "edgy" but the thing is it stays in people's mind.
I would say even as bad as it may be to get that bum rap, something you don't want, doing something blithingly stupid in the fic can save it and make people remember.

These fics, not so much. They blend for that lack of unique, that certain, this is not just another book on magic and swords, not a nother high fantasy, crime thriller,etc... when looking at the airport.

Its just a sniper rifle that fires plasma, but looks more like those foam disk shooters you played with as a kid than an actual rifle. The projectile would be described as looking like a frisbee more than a blob or bullet.

I think, for pony names at least, you should follow the general show formula:

For one word names (Fluttershy/Rarity/etc), use a maximum of three syllables.

For two word names (Twilight Sparkle/Lickety Split) use a maximum of four - there's a reason they hardly use Cadence's full name, same with Pinkie Pie.

It rolls off the tongue better.

If you're gonna use longer/more pretentious names, make it a plot point to do with their character/backstory.

Names tend to be personality/physical traits or QTmark/talent related too, there was this whole thing about "prophetic naming" earlier in the fandom where ponies would have a name and then get a mark or talent that would compliment it.
As for the personality or physical appearence reasons, look at Malice. She appears nice but everything about her is intimidating as fuck. She's also not afraid to kill subordinates who dissapoint her.

You can also take into account some wasteland ponies could be named after things or places their parents have seen like the Native Americans. ('Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Big Cliff')

If you look at some show characters you'll notice this too, Flitter and Fluttershy have insect wings in their QTmarks and it's typical to use 'flutter' and 'flitter' to describe that kind of wing flapping.

It's very hard to do it right.
But I have no answer for you.
I just sit and think about names. I often google specific traits that they have, and see if there are any corollary words or terms that pop up that grab my attention. Sometimes, a main character's name will just pop into my head, while a relatively minor side character will have me stuck for an hour.

True, although the show characters are rarely still enough for it to be obvious.
The angle the head is being seen from is important.
The head in >>25232844 is facing almost directly towards the viewer.
In >>25232014 the head is tilted to the side more, which means the distance between the eye and ear should be larger.
The aesthetic itself is alright, it doesn't look weird to me.

It's a cyclical fic, by which I mean it runs through the same process several times, building on it each time.

I found it to have gone through the cycle too many times.

Every writer here needs to go back and rewatch the original Mad Max, and then the sequels.
Fallout took them for inspiration, but lost the subtlety of pretty much everything that's in the films. It can really help the writing process to go back to the source.

Time magic is both difficult and very limited. Doesn't seem likely it would be weaponized.
Teleporting weapons sound possible, but I doubt they'd be used on infantry. Other weapons do just fine in that area.
It would be more likely to see use against harder targets. Explosives that jump past a tanks armor for example.

As for time, I was thinking of something that basically reverted an area its pointed at by two seconds. Anything not in there 2 seconds ago ceases to exist in the same way as the undo command in a program.

Unusual weaponry is fine, but unless it's very effective no one is going to use it over conventional weaponry.

Changelings.

To most, they are the creatures that almost took Canterlot, shapeshifters able to feed on the emotions of those around them.

While this is true, it is not all there is to the story.

When the Great War began, an alliance was struck between Princesses Celestia and Luna, of Equestria, and Queen Chrysalis, of the Changelings.

The changelings, natural infiltrators since birth, would become spies for Equestria. In return, they would no longer be hunted, permitted to continue feeding as they had for countless years before their failed invasion, provided they not engage in acts harmful to the equine government or population at large.

Of course, that was simply the beginning. As the war began to escalate, Stable-Tec, the company responsible for the life-saving Stables, recieved a request from parties that would, as part of the contract, remain anonymous and unnamed.

They were asked to create something new, something that would allow both changelings and ponies to survive, and promote harmony between the races.
