Welcome to the thread for discussion and homebrew projects related to the Equestria Divided setting.

Equestria Divided is an alternate universe where the Mane 6 are no longer friends. They've gone their separate ways, to form factions that vie for dominance in Equestria.

I wasn't necessarily suggesting using 40k as a basis. It's been more than five years since i had anything to do with 40k, and i spent most of my 40k experience customising and painting. You could could the number of battles i took part in on one hand.

I would love to see models for this one day. Maybe when 3D printers get more sophisticated, that is more practical and less expensive, every fa/tg/uy and his dog can make their own tabletop figurines.

The only pony that could keep it together is someone like Trixie, but there's a good chance she'd suffer a fate similar to Beria.

I'd imagine a more romantic ending to the whole story is the mane 6 (-1) meeting together, and then being forced to fight together again by some "common enemy" cliche. They'd remember who they were, and what was important in the first place, and what horrors the whole pointless, devastating conflict brought in the first place, most personal to them of course is the loss of Pinkie.

Imagine how utterly disappointed the sisters would be if they returned and saw what happened.

I think everything is going to go to shit.

Twilight is going to become an insane Alicorn Princess flirting with Sombra.

The Apples will find themselves being murdered by Changelings that gain their trust, and stab them in the back. Applejack will be the lord of a ruined, blackened, land.

Rainbow Dash's warmongering takes it's toll on her small forces, until they withdraw for one final last stand.

Fluttershy will go completely insane, and try to overrun the world with the Everfree forest.

Manehattan is going to fall, and Whitegold will have to live as roving sky-pirates in their airships.

The Cult will laugh in the embers of civilization, and open up rifts to invite horrors from beyond.

Could you print out an army at a good enough resolution to paint for a reasonable price? What's the resolution like on those printers? I think that would be the most significant issue with 3D printing models. If you can't get a detailed print it's almost pointless.

I think Stormwing deserves more love.

The Ancient Greek/Spartan aesthetic never goes out of style, and Rainbow Dash is without a doubt one of the most honorable and sane leaders in Equestria. As an added bonus, she is one of the House leaders who is said to often take part in leading and fighting in battles according to the Bio on her and the House, which I think is badass.

It also seems like one of those factions where you could be pretty much any race and not get shit on. Its definitely heavily biased on Pegasi, but it doesn't seem like life would be terribly bad for you as an Earth Pony or a Unicorn as long as you did your part to support the war effort. Not too mention that they've got griffons, Nhorse ponies, and other weird foreign shit on their side as well as auxiliaries to their core of elite pegasi warriors.

Stormwing is definitely the least crapsack of the factions at current, possibly tied with Whitegold (I personally put Whitegold below them, but I can see how someone would argue them to be equal).

The problem I forsee with them is what happens if Stormwing actually succeeds? Should they somehow manage to secure their own safety - let alone actually defeat the other major factions - they're suddenly going to be transitioning from a society of total war that's been effectively under siege for however long, to a peacetime situation.

And, that doesn't happen easily. I'm not saying they're instantly going to collapse, but I could easily see internal disputes riling up or the leadership looking for other kingdoms to pick a fight with after their strength is rebuilt. After all, they feel it's the Pegasi duty to watch over the land - who's to say that doesn't extend to other lands as well?

I personally have a hard time imagining how long term peace can be achieved with most of the Houses. Total Victory for some of them would result in a completely changed Equestria.

I personally don't see long term peace coming about in any scenario regardless of what House 'wins' the current conflict, but I do believe that decades from now that Stormwing might have issues after the current leadership dies out

They bring the fight to the Changelings. They sever ties with the Griffins.

The Stormwing's description doesn't exactly say they're under siege. Relations are strained with Earthborn and M&S, but there aren't any stories of larger battles and events, like we for example have between Earthborn and Everfree. They also have the entire north open to them.
They want to unify Equestria, and if they were to do so, they would still have enemies in the Changelings. Though the transition to a less militarized society might be tough, they do already rule lands, and some part of their structure must already be built around governance.

Since their justification for their claim to Equestria is firstly loyalty to the throne and secondly pegasi history and tradition, they actually don't in have a legitimate claim to other kingdoms as part of their "ideology".
They might very well subjugate others, but that will come after developing a new policy. Possibly like how the Imjin War happened.
But again, it's not a given from their current goal.

I was thinking of a single Queen exclusive lore and a selection of unit specific spells to emphasise the designated role ideal the changeling's use.

The queens handle the heavy lifting and the units have their own set of specialised abilities. The ideas you've presented for your Lores spells are pretty cool though. Basically I'm on the fence as to whether houses with magic should get Lore's or specific unit spells so I'm starting out with a compromise and going from there.

I will definitely be revising the Cults spells as a result and might very well go along with the double Lore's for changelings.

Its all open to revision right now.

Well, OCs are painful to create, but as long as no one fluffs them out to RPG status or turns them into mary sues (A writer in the last thread introduced and killed/wrote off his OCs in the same green), they'll fill the gap fine.

It's honestly less work than doing mental gymnastics where you try to find out how to fit the newly established characters into the older setting.

I have no way of knowing, but I always got the feeling that there was something even worse getting ready to make its return, and that at least three of the houses were inadvertently getting ready to fight that whatever-it-was. Between Starswirl's ghost aiding Twilight, the situation with Fluttershy and the Liege, and whatever the shit was going on with the Laughing Mare, I firmly believe Yorick had one hell of a reveal coming before he up and quit. Whole lotta spectral shit going on behind-the-scenes in this setting, if you can dig it.

Earf Pone Suggestion.

Used to be a load-master for an airship when the captain decided to throw his lot in with Earthborn after a bad traded with Whitegold. Choosing not to side in the war but now bereft of a job he followed through with a relationship he had formed with a mare on his travels.

The relationship was ultimatley intended to be a short term solution but when it developed into something more he was torn between a prospective job offering from a Manehatten company and staying with his new-found love.

After much internal dispute he confessed his situation to her and she, in a fit of upset rage, turfed him there and then. Now he seeks some way to make it up to her but despite earning some degree of success on the airship has yet to track down the mare and amend matters.

Iunno just a random idea for a character.

In celebration of Vermintide, I've been looking through my Skaven armybook, and I've decided how I'm going to reformat M&S Slaves. Basically, they're going to need a task-master(sergeant) from now on, to benefit from the ability to remove models to retry a morale quality save.

Additionally, taking a page from Skaven Slaves, I think that M&S troops would care so little about slaves, that they could shoot into melees the slaves are in. You'd have to roll a d6 first

A 1-3 would hit the slaves, but a 4-6 would hit the enemy. Acceptable losses in M&S eyes.

I'm not saying that Moon and Star warriors should be running into combat with just robes, but Earthborn already has a pretty good "medieval" aesthetic.

Stormwing has a lighter, Grecian appearance.

I think each faction needs to have a more distinguishing appearance.

As it stands, I don't think that the rank-and-file Moon and Stars are particularly impressive. Especially in contrast to it's warmachines and the monsters inside the army.

The Barbute is almost a uniquely Italian Renaissance thing, and is probably intentionally reminiscent of the Ancient Greek Corinthian helmets. Though the Romans also had a thing for those, and they were at least somewhat used by the armies of Republican Rome.

I think the entire setting has varying degrees of a late medieval vibe, not just Earthborn. I think Moon and Star kind of emphasizes it even more than most of the other factions because their House actually has Knightly Orders/Guilds which supposedly play a big part in their faction

Hey guys all this talk about Moon and Star made me remember that I made something for them a long while back

If anyone is familiar with those 'Create a Guardsman Regiment/Space Marine Chapter/ Ork horde' tables that get thrown around on /tg/ sometimes, I made something like that. A Create a Legion for House Moon and Star table that you roll dice on to make random legions for fun.

I know /mlp/ doesn't really have a dice rolling feature, but if people would like to see it I could maybe roll random dice for it and we could create a random legion using this table.

I got a bit more descriptive with this than most of the rest of the table. You can take it as it is or alter it as you see fit.

What did the Hero do?

While fighting against House Stormwing, this Hero personally dueled a renowned Hoplite warrior and slew him in single combat. The story of his duel is well-known throughout the legion and it inspires many of its members to great feats of valor.

In a battle against House Earthborn, this Hero refused to break formation and held the line in the face of overwhelming numbers, killing many foes and rallying his comrades at a desperate time. Many within the legion credit the Hero’s actions for helping secure victory in that battle.
5-6
The Hero played a critical role in destroying a military force of House Whitegold that had been harassing the legion and attacking its supply lines for weeks. Initially captured by Whitegold mercenaries, the Hero broke free of his bonds under the cover of night and led his comrades to the enemy camp, where the Whitegold force was slaughtered en masse.
7-8
The Hero, against all odds, was able to lead a squad of legionnaire soldiers in the midst of a daring raid against the Everfree Forest. Confronted with fierce creatures and savage foes, the squad credits their survival and success largely to the Hero, and with the raid’s success the legion was able to deliver a humiliating blow to House Everfree.
9-10
If not for the Hero, the legion could have very well suffered a terrible fate at the hands of the Cult of Laughter. The Hero recognized that the Cult had infiltrated the legion and was destroying it from within, and thus after rebuking the Cultists' offer to convert was able to find and kill the conspirators before their heresy could spread throughout the entire legion.

I Legion comprises what was the original day guard of Celestia. In the pre-war days of Equestria, it was mostly comprised of the commonly seen white pegasi in their gold armour, and grey unicorns in their own. Their near-universal presence in Equestria ended up with their number being that of a pseudo police force.

When the Great Schism that tore Equestira apart had struck however, this very legion was at the center of it. The schism saw the thousands-strong legion almost literally tear itself apart as racial prejudices, religion, bribery, and other general chaos dominated the new battlefield. Indeed, the vast majority of the war's very first battles comprised of infighting within this very legion.
When it was over, the purge completed, the legion itself was still very large, consisting of many skilled unicorn guards with decades of military experience between them. Unfortunately however, fate would still not be kind to I Legion at it was among the first selected for the initial house-to-house skirmishes and battles that drew today's map of Equestria. In the cataclysmic three-way (SW, EB, M&S) battle for Stalliongrad raged, I legion was all but destroyed to only a few dozen veterans. Archmagister Sparkle regretfully ordered it's disbanding shortly after.

The Veterans, along with other well trained, new additions to the order would find the now small I legion restructured and rebuilt as a tool of the Inquisition, meant for safeguard of high-status M&S members, as well as pacification of population centers. In combat, they are equipped to punch through moderate resistance, but not hold in a large battle. Their primary task is Force Reconnaissance.
Thus, I Legion, not as in "First legion", but "I Legion". Specifically, "Eye Legion". The Legion's very banner is that of an eye superimposed on the M&S crest. Their motto, 'OCULUS VIDERE TU' literally means "Eye See You" (Feel free to correct me, I am not well versed in Latin).

Her former unit had suffered suicidal losses (A casualty rate of 87%) in the previous skirmish, and saw it's survivors too mentally scarred to continue duty.

All without the exception of Sincere however, as Trixie had taken note of her professionalism and sacrificial valour, where in that same battle she opted to destroy a bridge at the cost of her unit rather than retreat over it. Whatever PTSD Sincere had suffered, was treated through aggressive hypnotherapy, amnesiacs, and other substances including EXPUNGED. The now headstrong and aggressive Sincere has been given a fluffed-up story for propaganda purposes, and her Regiment often makes up the advance guard of I Legion.

I can imagine this Legion being one of the ones that gets stationed around the Bastion of the Sun Guild, maybe sometimes gets sent out to garrison/defend recent Moon and Star conquests.

You could also say its closeness with the citizentry is what puts it at odds with the Inquisition

In the early days of Moon and Star, it was necessary to forge a united front against external threats. The 3rd Legion was created, funded, and supported by a unanimous vote from the assembled magisters.

With the blood spilled in the riots still fresh, the Moon guild was thoroughly displeased when the 4th Legion was paraded through Canterlot's streets, in gleaming golden armor and bearing Sun Guild Iconography.

The Sun Guild had gone behind the Moon Guild's back, another slight in what would becoming a long-running feud.

In order to save face, the leading Magisters of the Moon Guild agreed to create their own Legion.

The 5th Legion would be a Legion of subterfuge, as dark and mysterious as Princess Luna. Their arrival at that year's grand galloping gala took Canterlot by surprise.

Decked in black robes and burnished armor, the Legionnaires paraded through Canterlot, before paying homage to Twilight Sparkle.

The 5th Legion specializes in small-scale warfare, and missions demanding subterfuge and a delicate hand. Whenever the Moon Guild has a special interest in a battle, you can guarantee the 5th Legion will be there.

Like wraiths emerging from cleverly concealed hiding places, they strike, and disappear. The 5th Legion is adorned with the finest goods the Moon guild can muster, and Nightmares, Ursa Minors, and Assassins of Dawn and Dusk lend a somber tone to their ranks.

With the Legion's discreet nature, it frequently falls on it to counter Whitegold's intrigues against Moon and Star, leading to several large-scale battles against Whitegold's finest mercenaries.

Both sizes deny accountability in these battles, but that's to be expected.

Also, the citizenry friendship means that Shining Armor and Cadence speak on their behalf at times. Perhaps this legion feels greater loyalty towards the princess than towards the archmagister.

What I like to imagine is that this legion suffered heavy losses from having to fight in a tough urban combat scenario in Stalliongrad. Not long afterwards, that same legion was sent out to skirmish against Stormwing forces where its battered forces fought a fierce battle, and where its Legionary Hero was born.

A single Slave warrior was thrust into battle, and against all odds he managed to slay a Stormwing hero in single combat, rallying the Legion to great heights and giving them the morale boost needed to survive the battle. Tales of this particular legion, and its peculiar hero, have inadvertedly made the legion popular in the eyes of Moon and Star’s citizens. However, the establishment isn’t so fond of this particular legion, as they don’t want to upset the social order by elevating this slave pony up and his comrades up. Therefore, the casualties this legion suffered in the intense battle to retake Stalliongrad and against Stormwing were never replenished.

The Legion has currently been sent to the city of Hoofington, where it is hoped that its experience in fighting in urban warfare can help turn the tide against the growing forces of the Cult of Laughter there. A bitter rivalry has formed between this legion and the large Cult cell there. While the Moon and Star leadership may have passed over this legion for praise and honors, it is arguable that they are still popular amongst the people and that their valor is playing a great role in holding back the tide of the Cult in Hoofington

The 10th Cavalry Regiment is among the (many) border units that monitor territory between House Earthborn and House Moon and Star. It's official task is to defend, but more importantly, detect M&S incursions into the Whitetail Woods (Known to Stormwing as WeissesSchwanz Wald). That is the official task however, and more often than not the units find themselves making incursions and raids into M&S territory, most commonly the liberation of lingering slave ponies. Without fail however, these units almost always retreat before a real battle can ensue, as the threat of escalation is omnipresent.

As a Cavalry unit, they consist mostly of Pegasi rather than Earth Ponies. Expected to fight a retreat against a major M&S Invasion, they are equipped to be mobile, and to be ranged, screening against M&S attacks while whittling and slowing them down. The fastest of the unit's Pegasi have however, not a combat role, but rather act as couriers, swiftly delivering reports of enemy activity to higher HQ.

Their tactics, naturally, are Lightning Assault.

Major Alacritous commands 197th Battalion, a unit that, in line with Regimental equipment, consists almost entirely of Pegasi Auxillaries, with Earth ponies around only to crew heavy equipment, most notably the unit's organic Bucker Cannons. The Battalion is subdivided further into Companies, and Companies into Platoons at a ratio of 2 Pegasi Warriors to 1 Wing Cannoneer team. The Major has made a name for himself over recent years as he has conducted several successful raids into M&S with the intent of liberating slaves, and capturing resources. Not once has he been caught. At least, not yet. But when he and his unit are caught, there is going to be one hell of a battle.

I highly doubt that Sunset Shimmer would ally with M&S. When I wrote up rules for her, I imagined her as a mercenary/anarchist figure with power rivalling Sparkles, going by her own path. If you go by the FiM lore, a Twilight that didn't discover the Magic of Friendship would be pretty much the same as Sunset Shimmer in terms of power level, so it wouldn't be particularly apt to have Sunset be subservient to Twiggle Piggle. Her own sense of pride would prevent it.

On a related note, what sort of story do you people actually want for the CYOA?

Yes. In my version of the history, several Legions took part in the battle for Stalliongrad.

I Legion met in battle with the former Royal Guard Pegasi, and the result was some of the heaviest fighting witnessed in the entire front. Ironically, the combatants were mostly still wearing their pre-war Royal Guard uniforms.

While II Legion and III Legion were busy finishing off EB forces in Stalliongrad, I Legion, led by Shining Armour, charged what was left of SW in the north west of the city. However, the former Pegasi component of the Legion was led personally by Rainbow Dash. The urban terrain played perfectly to Stormwing's advantage, allowing them to repeatedly outmaneuver and surround the slow advance of Shining's Unicorn force. It was not unlike a battle here on Earth where Russian tanks had rolled into Grozny...

If the Unicorns expected heavy resistance and stopped, the Stormwing Force wasn't actually there. If they thought a sector cleared, then Dash had actually concentrated the majority of her small, elite, mobile force.

Unit after unit went down in a rapid series of ambushes, where SW focused on taking out HQs and other logistical units. By the end of the skirmishes, the Stormwing force that was outnumbered 6:1 now outnumbered the Unicorns 3:2. Enraged, Shining Armour finally cast his shield spell. Now, the two forces were trapped in an arena.

The Melee that ensued saw some of the war's bloodiest fighting. Pony tore into pony with a vast array of weapons, cannon shot smashed buildings into rubble, magic bolts ran through and vaporized Pegasi, a vicious hoplite even impaled a M&S Knight end-to-end with her lance.
The confident, decisive, victorious Pegasi were terribly wounded and had suffered 66% casualties. Dash was finally converging on Shining's position, when the latter's sister had finally intervened. Archmagister Sparkle broke through the shield and pulled Shining (And his bodyguard) out before Dash could display his head on a pike.

Something that focuses on action and is character driven would be to my liking. I want whatever character we go with to have strong desires and goals that he needs to work hard to achieve, and for there to be enemies that stand in his/her way that need to be dealt with and/or fought.

I also think it'd be cool if we perhaps were given the opportunity to formally join some of the factions at some point depending on what character we go with or what happens in the story. Maybe at some point we might even be offered special combat training and can gain the abilities/stats of a House Unit? Maybe we might even get to take part in a big battle or two?

That's the kind of stuff I'd like to see anyway

There is no objective evidence to indicate that this lore would not benefit to being modified to acomadate the major shifts and changes in the show canon come to think of it. It makes logical sense in the way you do not alienate newcomers to this thing of yours.

Because, again, we don't have any obligation to include everything from outside the setting, especially things that are newer than ED, and especially the movies, which are another step removed from all of this.
This is, for all intents and purposes, an alternate universe.

I fail to see how this, first of all, needs to be legitimized, and I honestly don't see why adding EQG would do so. It really has nothing to do with ED.

If they were to be included, I'd argue that it should be done in a minor way, not a major. ED already has a plot, a story. And that's about the Mane Six and the factions they build. That's what this setting is all about.
There's Griffins in the North, and Changelings in the South, but neither of them are given especially much attention. The story is not about them. Though the Changelings have a role.

Adding EQG, especially in a major way, would require tweaking the plot and the setting, for little gain. It's completely axillary to the story, and could at worst be detrimental to it.
There's no reason to use any effort on that.

Because the entire setting wasn't written with that in mind.
Alicorn Twilight is a particularly bad idea, as her NOT being a alicorn is one of the setting's defining plot points, and her attempted transformation is the most important and most pivotal moment in the plot.

The problem is that EQG has not effected the show in any major capacity, along with EQD starting in the middle of season 3, There is no reason for any of the factions to care about or even know about the mirror,nor is there a reason for people on the other side to know or care.

Rarity was terrible at managing the weather, because it wasn't her destiny. It's a pegasi's destiny to manipulate weather. There isn't a single unicorn with a weather-changing cutie mark.

Destinies are a fickle subject and the argument boils down to your preconceived notions about the subject but honestly, whose to say an enterprising unicorn couldn't learn how to manipulate the weather. Magic seems to be enough of a catch all tool that you could just telekinesis a few of the clouds into one spot and go from there.

Failing that you could just do what we mundane apes do and just adapt the crops to the weather. Or specialise in hydroponics. Or turn frogs into oranges.

Issues with food shortages however would make for a great internal plotline with the faction however.

That could be part of the problem. They have a lot of man(pony?)power but not a great deal of experienced agriculturalists to go around. Their farms are built around being easy to tend but ultimately rather inefficient, doubly so when you consider that the work also needs feeding.

Moon and Star is probably the most dangerous faction to fight in open combat. But it's economics/agriculture are probably weak, and it has cut-throat politics.

As for the food for slaves, they are probably fed gruel, and other crappy slop. I wouldn't take it beyond M&S to feed slaves dead slaves

Because of this, M&S has been able to create it's baroque weapons of war, such as the Idol of the Moon and Sun.

When first mined, Aetherium leaks out of veins in a sticky liquid form. Liquid aetherium is highly caustic, and burns any non-unicorn that touches it.

If liquid aetherium is ingested by a unicorn, it enhances their magical power, although it is habit-forming.

MARKED SLAVES

Life for a Moon and Star slave is nasty and brutish, but a cunning and ruthless pony can survive.

By stealing food and getting lighter work assignments, it's possible to thrive in a twisted sort of way as a slave.

But not as a marked one. A marked slave is the lowest of the low. No rights, no protections at all. Murdering a M&S slave in cold blood will earn a task-master a censure, but there are no such protections for a marked slave.

M&S generally prefers to enslave capital offenders, but truly heinous acts(Such as a 2nd-Class citizen murdering a Unicorn), generally lead to marked slavery.

Marked Slavery is simply put, working someone to death. Marked slaves receive half the food a regular slave does(which was already not much). They are given the hardest and most undesirable assignments, and a Moon and Star magister has the right to use them for whatever sort of magical experimentation they want to try.

The very bottom of Moon and Star society, are captured House Earthborn soldiers. They are swiftly pressed into Marked Slavery, and have the sign of a rotten apple branded over their cutie marks. Shackled and given heavy horseshoes, they are subjected to constant humiliation from their task-masters.

The biggest humiliation(and greatest entertainment for a task-master), is dunking.

Creating a large mud pit, task-masters will levitate a slave(preferably an earthborn one), and slam them into the mud over and over again. It's not uncommon for a slave to be drowned, or buried alive in mud during a session of dunking.

The description of the wilding ponies say that they reject their natural abilities (flight/cloud moving, magic, strength/endurance/growing shit) and give themselves to the forest. I highly doubt that's the kind of thing you could do through one spell, especially against an unwilling target. If it is, it would probably take way to long to be battle field practical. You'd have to take prisoners, and most Everfree war beasts would rather eat the ponies then capture them.

They can, in fact, NOT float and aren't all that spooky. They're front-line berserkers, break through units to be used on a battle field. They don't have the discipline, self control, or training for covert work.

As for Everfree's size, yes, there are quite a lot of monsters, ponies, and zebras in the forest. However, on the faction profile, it states that the clans of Everfree are loosely connected and not well organized. They don't have the command structure for massive coordinated operations. They might be able to attack/sabotage/kidnap/slash throats in one town at a time, but by the first, all the others in the area are alerted and ready.

It's lifted from OPF's rules, abeit for rifles. The rules are supposed the be balanced for the rest of the units and equipment. Making all gunpowder weapons move and shoot, for the sake of realism in a game about fantasy horses, would meddle with that.

The only time you'd see earthborn up against M&S arty is when earthborn are on the attack. Here the cannons built for mobility are going to be losing out against sun lasers with access to competent engineers.

The nastier, heavier earthborn guns wouldn't be found in those sorts of situations without a massive supply line and a lots of infantry support, leaving the match up unbalanced from the get go.

Generally I believe that M&S has the nastiest guns and with careful maintenance, will wipe the floor with anything else. Outside of that comfort zone they breakdown and it's here that earthborn engineering shines.

Even if your magical artillery could get within range before getting royally wrecked, Earthborn artillery have bombardment capabilities. They could be place behind walls or earthworks where Sunrays are literally incapable of hitting and still lob balls.

Let's also remember that magic requires careful concentration to use. It's really, really hard to concentrate when huge cannon balls as big as the Sunray you're crewing are falling all around you.

Artillery duel? More like Earthborn turkey shoot.

So the M&S unit is more reliable at hitting and can hit multiple units,potentially scoring more 'attacks' depending on if the shot enfilades a unit.

Still wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that. Two of them would turn an infantry block into a slag pile, remarkably reliably since it removes the need to hit.

On a table top game, reliability is everything. Good luck missing.

They have more territory, probably more manpower, and they are situated in a landscape that is almost perfect for defense. Sure, they might not be "coordinated", but you don't really have to be when all it takes is one word from the faction leader to send that entire force out of the forest in a screaming, blood-crazed horde. Would they win? Maybe. Probably not. But a shitload of people would die before Everfree gets pushed back, that's for sure. As for shooting in a straight line, why else would it specify. Pivoting while stationary doesn't prevent you from shooting and no artillery can split fire yet so that's out of the question.

Unless you're on a floor board or fighting in the middle of a city, terrain isn't going to just magically present itself in-front of every unit.

No M&S artillery is probably never going to be as numerous or as versitile as Earthborn artillery but it will still wreck face and eat at least a turn of shooting before its down.

Range won't help the unit, since LoS is going to interfere eventually and you'll be putting it up against Earthborn arty where it just isn't as versatile. "Close Enough" can be interpreted very vaguely. If a player sinks more than 200 points into a single unit, they're getting "More than Enough".

The only rule for Ordnance weapons is that the unit can either move, or shoot.

The other weapons in the One-Page skirmish usually have multiple attacks if they're Ordnance, not automatic hits.

If this skirmish game was less casual, and had more tabletop gamers, then I'd want to see the actual artillery dice used
