>>25212783Your tale made me remember of something that happened some years ago.
It was a case in my country where a town was built near a oilfield. Most of its citizens were families of the workers who moved from the capital to the south of the country. The place was fucking lonely because it was surrounded by a huge cold desert.
When the economy collapse happened, the workers lost their jobs and some of them moved back to the big towns in the not so cold and lonely north but some families stayed.
The solitude of the place, the cold depressing weather, the lost of hope and the unemployment mixed with the fall of socialization started a wave of massive suicides. The first one happened randomly then another and lastly more. It was like a epidemic and there was no way to stop it. Everyone got scared and left the place. Now it's a ghost town and looks scary and damn creepy.
