The point is, it's the same cartoon, done in the same art style and it has similar to the actual show strong and weak points. Key differences are the setting (and I'm ok with it) and the duration (which is a good point, because maximum we get from the actual show are two-parters).
I'm OK when people don't like EQG solely because "duh, humans" - there are people who watch MLP exactly due to it being about ponies. And if people very picky in terms of the actual show, and like only few episodes, I can see them not liking EQG writting. But I'm not ok with ones, who bring a shit ton of arguments, every single one of which in the reality ends up being just an attempt in justification of "duh, humans".
