>The cool autumn air blows against you as you walk down a trail into the Everfree Forest.
>It's not a place you go to very often; you only really go there if you're bored and taking a walk.
>That isn't the case this evening.
>The sound of quivering steps a little ways behind you reminds you of that.
"You doing alright back there?"
>Turning your head back a bit, you notice the slight bob of a pink mane.
>"Y-yes, um, I'll be fine... I hope..."
>With a slight sigh, you turn your head back.
>It happened about half an hour ago.
>You were doing your typical day to day activities, buying groceries, talking to anyone you knew on the way.
>The town was particularly active, it being the night before Nightmare Night.
>Decorations were beginning to appear everywhere, and even a few attractions were opening early.
>Pretty much like Halloween back home.
>The townsfolk were enjoying the holiday atmosphere.
>Except for one, a pony you knew by the name of Fluttershy.
>You knew her fairly well, being a part of the same circle of friends.
>She was moving around, acting as if she was ready to bolt at any moment.
>This behavior made you curious, so you decided to investigate.
>After tapping her on the back and turning her into a dust cloud outline of herself, you found her again and talked for a bit.
>Turns out, she's not too much a fan of a holiday for kids.
>You both had similar routes to the various stands, so you kept with her for a bit.
>Her fear seemed to stay with her even after the decorated section of town was gone.
>Eventually you found yourself on the trail back to her house before she realized she still had to do something.
>She had to pick something up from the local hermit in the forest.
>You were going to just go on your way and leave her be.
>Though, the sight of her stuck there staring at the foreboding entrance as her legs quivered just didn't feel right.
>Guess you have some form of conscience after all.
>That brings you to now.
