Shining Armor complained he was getting headaches, but he credited that to the protection spell he had to cast - which may or may not have actually been true. Queen Chrysalis's 'treatments' for it were probably when she took advantage of him for his love, though.
It also appeared that Chrysalis had melted his mind during the process, but it couldn't have been a direct side effect of the love draining itself; because he snapped right out of it the second it was convenient for the plot. It didn't even seem like he had any less love to give for Cadance because of Chryssy's influence, she was pretty much just feeding off some inexhaustible emotional aura Shining was projecting at her.
