The green Granny Smith variety are of particular interest to me for their tart flavor and crisp texture which lends well to making pies, other baked goods or home made apple butter.
On this own though I prefer pink lady apples the most for their crisp texture mild tartness and very sugary sweetness.
I also tend to enjoy apples slices with peanut butter or caramel. Or caramel and diced nuts.
For such a common fruit they are extremely varied and can be very enjoyable as a healthy snack.
Don't hurt that they can be used to make alcohol too.
